이주하는 신체가 가지는 ‘시간/시제’에 대한 행위적 개념을 탐구하는 작업이다. 5년간의 이주 행위와 함께, 시간은 기이하고, 허구적이고, 변형 가능한 것이 된다. 시간에 의해 타격을 입으며, 기다림 안에서 조각난 존재가 되어간다. 이러한 모순된 시간이 안무적 과정에 반영되며, 다음과 같은 질문을 던진다. 이주하는 신체는 어떻게 이러한 시간성을 반영하는가? 떠나감과 돌아옴이 몸이라는 같은 문지방에서 일어난다면 어떨까? 이 공연은 5년의 시간 동안 15회 이상 공연되며, ‘수행으로서의 공연 practice-as-performance’이자 ‘진단적 예술 작업 diagnostic artistic work’으로 자리했다. 각 버전의 구조와 내용은 시간의 흐름 그리고 노화에 따라 함께 변해가고 있다.

migrant-self the speed of a door explores perceptible and imperceptible timing and aging in relation to migrating. In the act of traveling home and abroad for 5 years, time becomes hybrid, fictional and bendable. Bruised by time, one faces fragile becoming in the waiting room. By reflecting the sense of paradoxical time into the choreographic process, the choreographer asks the following questions: How do certain body parts reflect this ruptured sense of time and duration? What if coming and going happen in the same doorway metaphysically and corporeally? This solo work migrated and toured more than 15 times over 5 years. It is a practice-as-performance as well as a ‘diagnostic artistic work’ of which structure and contents shift as time passes by. Each version is unique as the body ages.
